No Entropy

ft. Michael Stearns

Fractals don’t increase in entropy. There is no arrow of time. The end is the beginning.

No Entropy is a “Recombined” version of an older piece by Julius – Geologic Time. The piece is inspired by the idea that fractals have no arrow of time. Any fractal animation is valid backwards as much as forwards, unlike particle simulations for instance. The short piece ties its ending back to the beginning. So let No Entropy take you to a place where time stands still.

No Entropy is scored by Michael Stearns, a pioneer when it comes to immersive music, and has scored IMAX classics such as Chronos, Baraka and Samsara. Julius has worked with Michael before on the ARTECHOUSE exhibition Geometric Properties, as well as an upcoming fulldome film for the Experimenta Science Dome in Heilbronn, Germany.

Michael Stearns is an ambient music composer and performer, film composer, sound designer and soundtrack producer for theatrical films, documentaries, large format films, commercials and themed attractions. His music has been used for James Cameron’s “The Abyss”, “Titanic” and “Avatar”, as well as music for Disney Films, HBO, ABC, PBS, BBC, Discovery Channel, and Ron Fricke’s non-verbal 70MM films “Chronos”, “Sacred Site”, “Baraka” and “Samsara”. His award winning scores to Ron Fricke’s non-verbal global film masterpieces “Chronos”, “Baraka” and “Samsara” have played to audiences around the world.

Michael’s music has been used by Laserium, NASA, and choreographed by the Berkshire Ballet. Through his soundtrack production company, Michael Stearns Productions, he has created the soundtracks to Universal’s “Back To The Future, The Ride” and Paramount’s “Star Trek, The Experience”
